Next Saturday at the Our Lady of the Angels Regional Congress, one of our long-time parishioners, Cindy Rees, will receive the Excellence in Catechetical Service Award. This is a well-deserved honor for Cindy, celebrating 40 years of dedication to teaching religious education to the children of our parish. Please see the information below as our parishioners and friends are invited to the Mass this coming Saturday when Cindy receives the Award.

Cindy exemplifies the wonderful spirit and high caliber of our parish community. As your pastor, it is an absolute blessing to witness her dedication and leadership over many years.

I see many good people in our parish community taking up the challenge to affect what is going on in society and in some way, change the world with new growth and new life.

Without a doubt, if Christianity is going to live in the world today, it is going to live through us.

CONFIRMATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEENS - All in high school are invited to join our Confirmation formation program. For more information, contact Fr. Valerian at frvalerian@corpuschristichurch.com  

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR GRADES 1-8 - All children in grades 1-8 who do not attend a Catholic school are invited to enroll in our Religious Education Program.  In-person classes are held twice a month after the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass at the Carondelet Center. CORPUS CLASS OF ’72 The Corpus Christi Class of ‘72 is having a reunion weekend October 23-25.  All CCS alum are welcome to the Sunday, October 25 picnic at and around the bocce ball courts at Palisades Park on Sunday from 11 am – 4 pm. Please RSVP to Tim Bearer, Class of ’72, timbearer@icloud.com

CINDY REES RECEIVES “EXELLENCE IN CATECHETICAL SERVICE AWARD Congratulations to Cindy Rees who will be presented with the Archdiocesan’s “Excellence in Catechetical Service Award” by Bishop Matthew Elshoff on Saturday, October 17th at St. Monica Church at the 10:30 am Mass at the Regional Congress for Our Lady of the Angels Pastoral Region. (Please arrive early for parking) Over the decades Cindy has lovingly and faithfully taught hundreds of children as she prepared them for their Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion.  Mrs. Rees is passionate about wanting the children to understand how much they are loved by God and about Jesus' real presence in the Eucharist.  As our parish’s longest serving volunteer catechist, we thank her for her inspirational and faithful dedication to spreading the Gospel message.

REST IN PEACE: Please keep in your prayers our long-time parishioner, Julie Stoeckinger, who recently passed. May she rest in peace in God’s loving arms. Julie’s funeral will take place on Monday, October 26 at 10 am at St. Monica Church.
