My Dear Parishioners,

May is the month when we, as Catholics, traditionally turn our attention to Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Over a period of two thousand years many wonderful, pious devotions have grown from the people with a wonderful affectionate love and admiration for Mary.

When I look back on my childhood my family’s devotion to Mary became a part of my life. Whether it was the family rosary around our kitchen room table or the Novena to Mary at the local Dominican church, the traditions became part of who we were.

Mary is an inspiration for each of us as we try to walk the road of faith and we struggle to impart our Christian values and ideals to our children in a very cynical and secular culture.

She is truly a great model for us as we try to live our daily lives with the knowledge that God is with us on the journey and that we are never alone.

UPDATE ON REBUILD – We will be breaking ground for our parish rebuild in January 2027. More information will follow.

FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI The parish feast day of Corpus Christi is Sunday, June 7. We will celebrate with a 9:30 a.m. Mass and a reception following the liturgy. All are welcome.

ALTAR SERVER PROGRAM Students from grades 3-12 are invited to become an altar server for our Masses at the Carondelet Center. Training will be provided. A registration form is in the bulletin. Contact Will Salvini at will@corpuschristichurch.com for more information.

CORPUS CHRISTI PENS GOOD NEWS!!! The ever-popular Corpus Christi pens are back and are available on Sundays at the chapel entrance!!

THE ARCHDIOCESE OF LOS ANGELES community is invited to send prayer petitions to be blessed by Archbishop José H. Gomez and presented to Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City during a pilgrimage Mass that Archbishop Gomez will be celebrating on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Prayer petitions will be collected from Mother’s Day through Father’s Day at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, all 11 Catholic Cemeteries & Mortuaries locations and online at lacatholics.org/pilgrimage .

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY If you or anyone you know is struggling to Come Back Home assistance is being offered by Habitat at Calvary Christian Church which is hosting information sessions which are designed to help bring moderate income folks back home to the Palisades. The Sessions are scheduled for this coming Saturday, May 16 at 10:30 am and again at 1:00 pm.
