"Educate, Motivate, Inspire."
ABOUT

Corpus Christi School was established on September 17, 1951, and opened with an enrollment of 290 students in grades 1-6.  The initial staff consisted of 6 Sisters of St. Louis, a Religious Order of Women
founded in France during the 1800s.  The driving passion behind their charism:  "Sint Unum - May they be one" taken from Our Lord's prayer at the Last Supper (John 17:22).

Today, 60 years later, Corpus Christi School serves students in grades K-8 and its faculty strives to emulate the spirit embodied by the Sisters of
St. Louis as we live out the school motto:  "Educate, Motivate, Inspire."

Every person directly involved in Corpus Christi School is a part of this community, this family. However, our school family does not exist in isolation from the broader parish family. Indeed it is in strict accord with the dictates of the National Catechetical Directory which states:

“As a community and an institution, the school has an independent life of its own. But a parochial school is also a community within a wider community, contributing to the parish upon which it depends and is integrated into its life. Integration and interdependence are major matters of parish concern. Each program in a total catechetical effort should complement the other.”

All involved in Corpus Christi School take pride in its strong Catholic identity, an identity reflected in a complex mix of mission culture, people, environment, relationships and curricula. Maintaining this identity is not an end to be achieved, but rather a way of life to be lived. Our Catholic identity at Corpus Christi School is not something we “do” to our students, but it is the way we as a community, enlivened by our faith in Jesus, do everything.

With these beliefs firmly in mind, our dream for our students is to see them

  • eager to live and share their faith in Christ;
  • equipped to be productive citizens in a global society with knowledge and skills which allow for action;
  • prepared to make choices in life born of justice and moral “rightness”
    exercise the facility for identifying false values;
  • willing to share of their abundance of material foods with those in need;
  • unwilling to compromise their God-given freedom through abuse of drugs and alcohol.

Yes, our mission at Corpus Christi School is both privilege and challenge and we welcome you to share in both.
